Job functions:
Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related technical or college level courses helpful. Supervisory, lead training or college level management courses helpful. Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.
Experience: Demonstrate expertise in the grinding, one to two years of polishing experience, basic knowledge in all other areas of the fabrication processes, and possess 5-7 years directly related experience.
Special Abilities: · Use hand tools such as micrometer for diameter of lens, depth gauge with bar for sag, drop gauge on fixture for wedge, drop gauge for center thickness, calipers for diameter of lens, dial comparator for curve of radii, interferometer for radius, vapor degreaser air gun. · Cleaning, grinding, sawing, beveling, surface inspection, single spindle or CP polishing. · Be able to achieve 1/4 wave P.V. and 10 second arc wedge over 6” aperture. · Able to setup and operate an interferometer to interpret surface flatness, wedge, and fizeau fringes · Ability to calculate figures and perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions. · Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. · Ability to use a scientific calculator and perform basic calculations. Ability to accurately calculate wedge, angles, and fringe calculations.
